RetailMeNot: 31 Percent Of Consumers Plan Online Tax Filing This Year
Austin-based online coupon site RetailMeNot has run a survey about online tax filing, saying that its survey found that around 31 percent of consumers plan on filing their tax returns using online services this year. RetailMeNot said that married individuals are more likely to file via the web (37% versus 25%), and people who make $50,000 or more are more likely to file that those that make $50,000 (35% versus 27%). RetailMeNot ran the survey to call attention to a coupon section on its site focused on tax filing products and services. The company said the survey included 1,023 U.S. residents ages 18 and over, and was run for the company by The Omnibus Company.
