ACTIVE Network Moves To Dallas
Texas has swayed another California company to relocate to the state, after San Diego-based ACTIVE Network said late Thursday that it is moving its headquarters to Dallas. According to Active Network--which provides sports registration and other related services for marathons and races, as well as registration services for community centers and classes, campground reservations for state parks, and other similar services--it will set up in Dallas, where it will create a "significant" presence. ACTIVE Network said the move comes as part of an effort to establish centers of excellence, recruit and retain future talent, and position the company for growth. Texas managed to convince ACTIVE Network to move, via the joint efforts of City of Dallas, Dallas Regional Chamber, and the State of Texas, including incentives from the Texas Enterprise Fund and Governor's Office of Economic Development. ACTIVE Network is owned by Vista Equity Partners, which so far has moved two other companies to Texas from California--Websense and Omnitracs.
