WP Engine Claims Record Growth

Austin-based WP Engine, which provides a hosting platform for WordPress websites and applications, said today that it saw record growth in the last 12 months. The company says it had a customer increase of 130 percent in the last 12 months, and now has 23,000 customers with 200,000 plus domains on its service. Actual financials were not announced by the company. WP Engine says it also has grown its employee base, and now has 195 employees spread across Austin, San Antonio and San Francisco, with plans to grow to 220 by the end of the year. WP Engine is led by Heather Brunner, and is backed by North Bridge Growth Equity, Silverton Partners, and others.
