RadioShack Plans Bankruptcy Filing, Says Report

Fort Worth-based RadioShack is preparing for a bankruptcy filing, as early as next month, according to a report. The WSJ--citing people familiar with the matter--said that the filing comes as RadioShack has run short of cash, and as the company's attempt at a turnaroud has sputtered. RadioShack has been attempting to carve out a new niche for itself in the market, remaking its stores, shutting thousansd of storefronts, and launching a big marketing push at last year's Super Bowl. The company most recently hired a turnaround expert in October in an attempt to stave off bankruptcy.
