American Airlines Seeks Split From Gogo
Fort Worth-based American Airlines has filed suit to split from in-flight wireless carrier Gogo, as Gogo's speeds have fallen behind those available from competing in-flight wireless services from ViaSat. The lawsuit says that American Airlines is seeking to switch to ViaSat, saying that ViaSat's service would "materially improve" its Internet service available on its airplanes. ViaSat powers competing in-flight wireless services available on Jet Blue, Virgin America, and United Airlines. The lawsuit was first uncovered by the Star Telegram.
