WP Engine Names Cybersecurity Lead

Austin-based WP Engine, the provider of WordPress hosting services, said today that it has named Eric Murphy as the company's new Director of Security. WP Engine did not detail Murphy's prior positions, however, Murphy's LinkedIn profile indicates he previously was President of Welcome Web Studios, and also served at iland Internet Solutions Corp., Total Technologies, The Woodlands Technology Group, and Texas Digital Systems. Murphy, who had been in Houston, will join the executive team at WP Engine's headquarters in Austin, according to the company.
