SpaceX Testing Mars Mission Lander In Texas, Targets 2018 For Launch
Space rocket firm SpaceX said Wednesday that it has been running test in McGregor, Texas, of its propulsive landing systems, in hopes of delivering a payload to Mars as early as 2018. According to SpaceX and founder Elon Musk, it is hoping to land its Red Dragon landers to Mars, using its SuperDraco propulsive landing systems, as a first test of a platform it says it expects to be able to land anywhere in the solar system. SpaceX has testing operations in McGregor.
