Texas Venture Capital Totals $255.6M In Q2
Venture capital investments in Texas dropped in Q2, to a total of $255.624M invested in the state, according to the latest numbers from the MoneyTree Report from PricewaterhouseCoopers, the National Venture Capital Association, based on data from Thomson Reuters. The total was down from Q1 (when $596.9M was raised) but more than the $219.9M raised in Q2 of last year.
Nationally, venture capitalists invested $15.3 billion across 961 deals in the quarter, which the report found was an increase of 20 percent in total dollars, with a slight decline of 5 percent in number of deals versus Q1. That said, overall dollars invested in startups was down 12 percent year-to-year compared with Q2 of 2015, and 22 percent down in terms of deals.
