Genband Gets Setback In Patent Case

Frisco, Texas-based Genband has seen a setback in its patent lawsuit against UK-based Metaswitch, after a judge denied Genband's motion for a permanent injunction against Metaswitch related to a patent lawsuit. Genband had filed for the injunction against Metaswitch in February. A jury in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas found in January that Metaswitch had infringed on patents held by Genband, and awarded the company $8.2M. Genband is a developer of telecom and networking equipment.
