Hotels.com Aims To Get Out The Vote
Dallas-based hotel booking site Hotels.com is hoping to make it easier for its customers to participate in the U.S. election process, saying that it will be helping its customers figure out how to vote, if they are out of town on Election Day. Hotels.com said it will send out emails to anyone with a November 8th stay date, with details of voting options, and also details such as requesting an absentee ballot. Hotels.com cited numbers from the 2012 election, which found that 8.6 percent of people didn't vote, using "out of town" as an excuse. Hotels.com is leveraging resources from Google for the new feature, which is directing voters to information being offered up by Google on voting options.
