CyrusOne Launches Big Expansion In Chicago

Dallas-based colocation provider CyrusOne announced this morning that it is breaking ground on a brand new, 425,000 data center in Chicago, as part of an expansion aimed at serving that city's financial services companies. According to CyrusOne, the new data center will be located at its existing Aurora, Illinois campus. CyrusOne did not say when it expects to complete the new data center, nor how much it is investing in the new project. CyrusOne said it acquired the land for the data center in March of 2016, in a leaseback deal with CME Group.
