BigCommerce Rolls Out Encryption Effort With Symantec

Austin-based e-commerce software developer BigCommerce said Monday that it has linked up with Symantec, to enable encryption for all of its customers, including free secure sockets layer (SSL) certificates. According to BigCommerce, it will deliver Symantec's Encryption Everywhere solution for its customers, to encourage its online merchants to implement security across their sites. Financial details of the link between BigCommerce and Symantec were not announced, however, the two said that additional security features from Symantec will be available to BigCommerce's customers, on top of the free standard SSL certification being provided through the deal.
