Austin, Dallas Are On Amazon's HQ2 Finalist List

Austin and Dallas are among the 20 cities now being considered for e-commerce giant Amazon.com's second headquarters, billed "Amazon HQ2". According to the list of cities still in the running for the new headquarters are both Austin and Dallas, which are competing for up to 50,000 jobs and over $5 billion in construction investment. Amazon issued an RFP for its second headquarters location last year, as it said it had completely outgrown its current headquarters in Seattle. Amazon says the second headquarters is expected to create tens of thousands of additional jobs and tens of billions of dollars in additional investment in the surrounding community, issuing an RFP to cities last year for their proposals for the new location.
