Report: Dallas Venture Capitalist Runs Into Legal Troubles Over Bar Fight

Stephen Hays, the managing director of a small venture capital fund based in Dallas, Deep Space Ventures, has run into some legal issues after he plead guilty to attempted assault and attempted extortion, according to a report today. According to the report, from VentureBeat, the troubles stem from a dispute at a bar in Vail, Colorado. Deep Space Ventures, which has $20M under management, has invested in such companies as FanAI, Battlefy, Optic Gaming, and others.
