Wipro Plans To Hire 600 In Texas, Launches New Technology Center In Plano

International information technology consulting and outsourcing giant Wipro Limited says it plans to hire 600 employees in Texas, and has opened up a new Texas Technology Center in Plano, as part of a plan to ramp up its headcount in Texas. According to Wipro, which currently employs 1400 in the state, it hopes to ramp up its headcount in Texas to 2000 over the next few years. Wipro said the new center will focus on "new and emerging technologies" for its clients, and will also house its cyber security center and a "hub" for its advanced analytics efforts. The center, with 45,000 square feet, will initially employ 150. Wipro currently has operations in Plano, Dallas, and Houston.
