Match Group Acquires Dating App Hinge

Dallas-based dating site operator Match Group said this week that it has acquired 51 percent of Hinge, the developer of a relationship app, which is aimed at helping users create more meaningful relationships. Financial details of the buy were not announced. According to Match Group, it also has the right to acquired all of the remaining shares of hinge within the next 12 months. New York-based Hinge was already backed by Match, which had made an investment in the dating app developer in September of 2017. Hinge is led by CEO Justin McLeod.
