AT&T Buys Otter Media

Dallas-based AT&T said Tuesday afternoon that it has acquired the remaining part of Los Angeles-based Otter Media that it did not own from The Chernin Group. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Otter Media owns such online content and media brands as Ellation, Fullscreen, Rooster Teeth, plus owns stakes in Gunpowder & Sky, plus Hello Sunshine, the media company founded by Reese Witherspoon. AT&T said Otter Media will become part of its WarnerMedia unit, and will continue to be run by CEO Goncalves. The company said the deal will "not have a material effect" on its first half 2018 results.
