Whole Foods, Amazon Plan Big Expansion
Amazon and Whole Foods are planning a major expansion--driving by Amazon's "Prime Now" delivery service--in the Idaho, Wyoming, and Southern Utah, as well as other parts of the Rocky Mountain region, as part of a major expansion of its services. According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Whole Foods employees have been scoping out Idaho, Wyoming, and southern Utah for potential retail spaces, as big as 45,000 square feet, for its planned expansion. The move comes as Amazon has been increasingly connecting its online grocery delivery and e-commerce operations with Whole Foods' grocery store footprint and customer base. Amazon acquired Whole Foods in June of 2017, in a huge, $13.4 billion deal.
