CyrusOne Connects Into IBM Cloud

Dallas-based data center operator CyrusOne has linked up one of its facilities--its Carrollton data center--directly to IBM's cloud services, the company said on Friday. CyrusOne said that IBM Cloud Direct Link is now available via CyrusOne's National IX. The service provides a secured, dedicated network connection from their own IT infrastructure to the IBM Cloud. The program is very similar to direct connect offerings from Amazon and Microsoft, which give large customers dedicated, direct access to those cloud services provider--avoiding connectivity and traffic congestion issues they might face using the non-dedicated, open Internet. CyrusOne said the connectivity will particularly help its customers in the Texas and Dallas Metro Area.
