Mailgun Acquired By Thoma Bravo
San Antonio-based email API company Mailgun, which is a spinout of Rackspace, is now majority owned by private equity investor Thoma Bravo, as part of a growth capital investment and transaction. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Mailgun had been owned by another, private equity investor, Turn/River Capital. As part of the deal, Turn/River and the company's management team will retain a minority ownership stake in the company, according to the company. Mailgun develops an email API, which allows developers to send, receive, and track emails from their applications. The company counts such customers as Lyft, GitHub, Iterable, and Indeed. Mailgun continues to be led by CEO Will Conway.
