Magnitude Software Connects Tools To Database Provider Kx

Austin-based Magnitude Software, the developer of application data management software which recently raised a big, $179M funding round from 3i, has linked up its tools to in-memory database developer Kx. According to Kx, which is a division of First Derivates plc, and Magnitude, the two have rolled out an ODBC driver which links the Kx kdb+ time series database to third-party business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI and Excel, as well as other data visualization applications. Financial details of the partnership and cost of the ODBC driver were not announced by the firms. Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) is an widely accepted industry standard which allows applications to access multiple different databases in a standard way.
