GameStop Names CFO

Grapevine-based video game retailer GameStop said today that it has named Catherine R. (Cathy) Smith as the firm's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, replacing founding EVP and CFO David W. Carlson. GameStop said that Carlson is retiring from the firm, effective March 1, 2010. Smith joins the firm from Centex Corporation, where she was EVp and CFO. Smith has also served at Kennametal, Bell Systems, and at the Intelligence and Information Systems Business of Raytheon Company.
