NEC Names President, CEO
Texas-based NEC Corp. of America, the U.S.-based subsidiary of Japan's NEC Corp., reported Wednesday that it has promoted Takayuki Okada to the role of president and chief executive officer, effective April 1. The firm, which has its U.S. headquarters in Irving, said Okada will be responsible for overseeing its U.S. business lines, including server and storage solutions, optical network systems, microwave radio communications and biometric security. NEC America noted that Okada, who most recently was senior vice president for NEC's parent company, succeeds Makoto Imai. NEC America added that Imai will return to Japan to assume new executive responsibilities for NEC Corp.
