Alereon Gets Wireless FCC Certification, Software Deal
Austin, Texas-based Alereon has certified the firm's Intel-based reference design, and also announced today that it is showing a solution with Stonestreet One for the Wireless USB for Windows Mobile market at CES. Alereon said that the Intel Host Wire Adapter (HWA) Reference Design, which uses Alereon's PHY chips for wireless USB, has passed test requirements for certification from the FCC. Separately, the firm said it has announced a solution with Stonestreet One, a provider of wireless software for the local and personal area networking market. The new solution includes Alereon's AL4000 Wireless USB chipset, and Stonestreet One's UltraSuite for Windows Mobile software, and is targeted at OEMs of consumer and mobile electronics. Alereon develops semiconductors for the ultrawideband (UWB) USB and WiMedia market.
