SunGard Completes VeriCenter Acquisition

SunGard, a provider of software and processing services to the financial, higher education and public sectors, reported Tuesday that it has completed its acquisition of Houston-based VeriCenter Inc. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, SunGard said it did not expect the acquisition to have a material impact on its financial results. VeriCenter is an application hosting and IT infrastructure outsourcing company for large- and mid-market enterprises. SunGard said it will integrate VeriCenter into its Availability Services division, thereby adding seven data centers throughout the United States. The Wayne, Pa.-based company added that its Availability Services will now cater to more than 10,000 customers in North America and Europe.
