Bazaarvoice Raises $8.8M

Austin, Texas-based Bazaarvoice said this morning that it has raised $8.8M in a second round of funding from Battery Ventures and Austin Ventures. The firm, which develops e-commerce applications that allow online retailers to show and solicit user reviews of products, said that it will use the new capital to extend its market leadership. Battery Ventures led the funding round, and Nerraj Agrawal will join the firm's board as part of the funding. Bazaarvoice currently counts Bass Pro Shops, Dell, Macy's, Overstock.com, PETCO, QVC and Sears as customers of its service. Bazaarvoice raised a Series A funding round in January of 2006, worth $4M.
