EdgeCast Taps Dallas Data Center

Switch and Data, a provider of Internet exchange and colocation service, said today that content delivery provider EdgeCast Networks has expanded into Dallas, along with Atlanta and Seattle. EdgeCast, a provider of content delivery network (CDN) services, will host its equipment in Switch and Data's center in Dallas. CDN providers store rich media and other data near Internet access points to speed access to streaming media and other high-bandwidth content.
