Wintegra Gets Win At Airspan
Wintegra Inc., a provider of packet processors and software for wireless and wireline infrastructure equipment, revealed Wednesday that WiMAX- and Wi-Fi-based Internet service provider Airspan Networks Inc. has selected Wintegra's WinMax packet processor for use in Airspan’s next-generation WiMAX base stations. A founding member of the WiMAX Forum, Airspan will use Wintegra's 802.16e mobile WiMAX MAC processor in conjunction with existing WiMAX MAC software and PHY technology, Wintegra said. The Austin, Texas-based company explained that its WinMax packet processor offers pin-compatible MAC and network interface capabilities and is part of the WinPath2 family of processors. Airspan Networks is headquartered in Boca Raton, Fla.
