EDS Lands $550M IT Services Contract
Information technology outsourcing firm EDS announced Tuesday that it has signed a seven-year IT services contract with Continental Airlines worth $550 million. The agreement, EDS said, specifies that it will manage Continental's computer environments, reservation systems, legacy application development and maintenance, field services, network and voice systems and help desk. EDS noted that the agreement also specifies the two companies will work jointly to modernize Continental's legacy application systems. The world's fifth-largest airline, Continental Airlines is based in Houston and employs more than 45,000 people. EDS is headquartered in Plano, Texas.
