BMC Releases IT Operations Software

Houston-based BMC Software said today that it has released a new software package aimed at monitoring IT operations. BMC said its PractiveNet Analytics software provides business service management (BSM) for IT operations, informing IT operations about impending performance abnormalities. According to BMC, the new software is focused on service level objective monitoring, and uses data points from applications and devices to let IT staff know about possible causes of performance issues. BMC is a developer of software used by enterprises to monitor their IT operations. No pricing for the software was given.
