Dell Adds Carrefour For Retail Presence In Europe

Personal computer manufacturer Dell Inc. announced Tuesday that the Carrefour Group will become Europe's first mass merchandiser to sell Dell notebooks and desktops. Dell said consumers in France, Belgium and Spain should be able to purchase Dell products in 365 Carrefour Group stores by January. Dell added that the two companies plan to introduce Dell products to additional stores in other countries later in 2008. The move is the latest move from Dell to expand its retail distribution; earlier this year, Dell announced retail partnerships with Staples in the United States, Courts in Singapore, Gome in China, Bic Cameria Inc. in Japan, Carphone Warehouse in the United Kingdom and Wal-Mart in the U.S., Canada, Brazil and Mexico.
