Active Power Gets Win
Austin-based Active Power, which develops uninterruptible power supplies based on flywheel technology, said Thursday that it has scored a win at an undisclosed, U.S. military facility. Active Power said that a 600 kvA UPS from the firm has been deployed to protect the facility from power sags, fluctuations, and outages. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. According to the firm, the purchase was made through a General Services Administration (GSA) contract. Active Power develops uninterruptible power supply systems that use mechanical flywheels, instead of battery, technology.
