SolarWinds Adds Board Member

SolarWinds, an Austin, Texas-based publisher of network management software, reported Thursday that it has appointed salesforce.com executive Steven Cakebread to its board of directors. Cakebread, SolarWinds added, will join the board as chair of its audit committee. Cakebread is currently salesforce.com's chief financial officer. However, salesforce.com announced in August that he will transition to president and chief strategy officer between February and April of this year. Prior to joining salesforce.com, Cakebread served as senior vice president and CFO at Autodesk. Before that, he was vice president of finance at Silicon Graphics World Trade and held various positions at Hewlett-Packard. Cakebread currently also sits on eHealthInsurance's board.
