FiveRuns Hires Red Hat’s Barr as BizDev VP

FiveRuns Corp., a provider of application monitoring and management services for Ruby on Rails applications, reported Tuesday that it has hired Todd Barr as vice president of business development. FiveRuns said Barr, who spent the previous six years at Red Hat Inc., will oversee the expansion of FiveRuns' Rails Application Management Partner program. Ruby on Rails, or Rails for short, is a free Web application development environment. Prior to Red Hat, Barr was an associate at Dell Ventures, Dell Inc.'s strategic investment arm. Before that, he was a sales and marketing employee at CitySearch.com. FiveRuns is headquartered in Austin, Texas.
