Cleantech Group to Move HQ from Boston to Austin
The Clean Technology and Sustainable Industries Organization announced Tuesday that it plans to open a new branch in Austin, Texas, and designate that office as its new global headquarters. Currently based in Boston, CTSI is a not-for-profit trade organization committed to the commercialization and global adoption of clean technologies and sustainable industry practices. The organization also reported that Austin Energy and Applied Materials will serve as local, founding members. CTSI said siting its headquarters in Austin will help increase the city’s global brand awareness as a leader in sustainable technology commitment and infrastructure. The move will also further Austin’s cleantech community and regional economic development efforts, the organization claimed. CTSI did not disclose when it would open its new offices, but it did say that next year's Cleantechnology event will be held in Texas. The annual, CTSI-sponsored event is slated for June 1-5 in Boston this year.
