Red Hat Eyes Austin For HQ, Says Report

According to a report today from the Austin Business Journal, open source software maker Red Hat Software is considering a move of its headquarters to Austin. Red Hat is currently headquartered in Raleigh, N.C., and is known for its version of the open source Linux operating system. The report says that Austin is contending with Boston and Atlanta as possible locations for the new headquarters. The Business Journal cited it source as city officials, who said that Red Hat has been to Austin at least twice this year to scope out possible locations.
