i2 Technologies Acquired In $346M Deal
Dallas-based supply chain applications publisher i2 Technologies Inc. has agreed to be acquired by competitor JDA Software Group Inc. of Scottsdale, Ariz., for some $346 million in cash, JDA announced Monday. Dr. Pallab Chatterjee, i2's chief executive officer, said the merger will result in one of the world’s strongest and best-of-breed developers of supply chain planning and optimization software. JDA noted that, on a pro-forma trailing 12-month basis, the combined company would have annual revenues of $635 million, including some $300 million in annual maintenance and recurring subscription fees. JDA CEO Hamish Brewer said the acquisition will help his company expand its addressable manufacturing market to include discrete manufacturing. i2 Technologies was founded in 1988 by Sanjiv Sidhu and Ken Sharma.
