Innography Raises $6.5M

Innography, a publisher of hosted intellectual property (IP) management software, announced Monday that it has raised a round of venture financing after securing some $6.5 million. Austin Ventures and Hunt Ventures led the effort, Innography said. The company, which was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Austin, Texas, added that Hunt provided it with a seed investment a year ago to help launch its software-as-a-service line. Since then, Innography noted, it has operated in a "semi-stealth mode," accumulating a customer base of 25 name-brand companies. Innography noted that it will use the Series A money to ramp up its sales, marketing and product development efforts. Innography's software is used to manage IP licensing and patent management.
