Phytel Appoints CEO
Dallas-based Phytel, a publisher of patient management software, reported Monday that it has appointed Steve Schelhammer chief executive officer. Phytel said Schelhammer currently chairs its board but will resign in order become its CEO. The 25-year health care industry veteran will oversee Phytel's strategic direction and market positioning, the company said. Before joining Phytel, Schelhammer founded Accordant Health Services, a disease management firm. He also helped found the Disease Management Association of America, Phytel noted, adding that, prior to Accordant, he held upper management positions with Quantum Health Resources, CarePartners, Tokos Medical Corp. and Caremark.
