Texas Ranks Second On Tech Export List
Texas has been ranked number two in the nation in terms of technology exports, according to a report released by the AeA today. The AeA, a trade association representing the high tech industry, said that Texas had $35.9 billion in technology exports in 2007. The report found that the biggest export sectors for the state were communications equipment, with $8.8B in exports; electronic components, at $3.5B; and semiconductors, at $8.7B. Although Texas was ranked highly, the AeA noted that the state had a drop in exports in semiconductors and computer and peripheral equipment during the period.
