Freescale Bumps Su to Networking, Multimedia GM

Embedded chip manufacturer Freescale Semiconductor reported Tuesday that it has promoted Dr. Lisa Su to senior vice president and general manager of networking and multimedia. Freescale said Su joined the Austin, Texas-based company in 2007 as senior vice president and chief technology officer. Su, who replaces Lynelle McKay, will retain her CTO duties until a replacement is found, Freescale noted. Prior to Freescale, Su worked for IBM, where she held various technical and business positions, including vice president of technology development and alliances for IBM's Systems and Technology Group and director of IBM's PowerPC product line.
