FiveRuns Promotes Service With Giveaway
Austin-based FiveRuns, which operates a Ruby on Rails performance optimization service, is promoting its service with a new effort to give away its services for free. According to FiveRuns, it is running a "Rails Performance Challenge" where it will provide its performance optimization and deployment readiness services to a Ruby on Rails user. The firm said it will give five winners free consulting services. FiveRuns said it is taking entries until December 1st from Ruby on Rails sites who describe their application performance issues to the company. Ruby on Rails is a software language popular with Web 2.0 web sites; high profile messaging service Twitter was the focus of intense and controversial scrutiny earlier this year, after major scaling and downtime issues linked to its use of the Ruby On Rails language.
