Dell Thinks Pink
Computer manufacturer Dell Inc. revealed Thursday that it will help raise money for a Dallas-based breast cancer charity by donating $5 whenever it sells a pink-colored computer. Specifically, Dell said it will tender a five-spot to Susan G. Komen for the Cure with every purchase of a "Promise Pink" laptop or miniature notebook. According to Dell, Susan G. Komen for the Cure will use the proceeds to fund breast cancer research and community-based programs for breast health education and screening. Dell added that its fund-raising drive officially begins today and that, regardless of how many portable computers it sells, it will make a minimum donation of $250,000 this year. Dell is headquartered in Round Rock.
