RipCode Hires Sales VP

Dallas-based video transcoding product maker RipCode Inc. reported Tuesday that it has hired Greg Lowitz as executive vice president of sales and business development. Working from its Bay Area office near San Francisco, the firm said, Lowitz will direct its global sales channels and strategic business partnerships. He joins RipCode from NetApp Inc., where he led that company's global business and sales development efforts. He has also served as a managing director at Avid Technology Inc. and as vice president and general manager of broadcast sales operations for Pinnacle Systems Inc.'s Americas division. RipCode is a privately held company, backed by Hunt Ventures, Vesbridge Partners, El Dorado Ventures, ATA Ventures and Granite Ventures.
