Alliance Tech Acquires nTAG

Austin-based Alliance Tech, a provider of RFID-enabled name badges for the conference business, said this morning that it has acquired nTAG, a developer of social networking software for conferences and events. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to Alliance Tech, the acquisition will add "significant value" to its portfolio of offerings. nTAG's products allow attendees of conferences to network and share information with one another, as well as allow event planners to monitor their events. Alliance Tech said it will assume nTAG's assets and retain key staff of nTAG. nTAG was venture backed by Pilot House Ventures and Sevin Rosen Funds, and was based in Boston.
