Amazon Buys Stanza

Ecommerce giant Amazon.com has acquired Lexcycle, maker of the mobile iPhone book reader software Stanza. Stanza, which has offices in Austin as well as Portland, Oregon, said Monday that Amazon.com had acquired the firm. Neither firm provided financial details on the deal. Lexcycle's Stanza software was used to browse, find, and read electronic books using Apple's iPhone and iPod touch devices. Lexcycle said its sales and marketing efforts are out of its Austin offices.
