Texas Firm Sues Amazon.com Over Patent

A Longview, Texas firm, Texas OCR Technologies, sued Amazon.com on Friday, over a patent which it says covers Amazon "Search Inside This Book" feature. In a complaint filed in the Texas Eastern District Court, Texas OCR Technologies said that Amazon infringed on United States Patent No. 6,363,179, and that it is looking for damages for the patent infringement. The lawsuit names both Amazon and Amazon Services LLC, Amazon's web services subsidiary, as a defendant.
