The Planet Officially Opens Plano Data Center
Houston-based IT hosting firm The Planet reported today that it has officially opened a 106,000-square-foot data center in Plano. According to The Planet, the new facility represents its eighth data center and offers some 224,000 square feet of total raised-floor area. Thursday's announcement continues The Planet's trend of expansion since receiving a $45 million credit facility in October. The Planet first revealed plans to launch a Plano data center in December and began preleasing floor space at that time. In May, The Planet opened a data center in London, its first such international facility. The rest of The Planet's data centers are located in the Dallas and Houston metropolitan areas.
