Match.com Buys Online Dating Provider

Dallas-based Match.com, which is owned by IAC/InterActiveCorp., said Tuesday that it has acquired People Media, a Los Angeles-based operator of a network of online dating sites. Match.com said it will pay $80M in cash for People Media, which was previously owned by American Capital Ltd. People Media operates sites such as BlackPeopleMeet.com, SingleParentMeet.com, SeniorPeopleMeet.com, BBPeopleMeet.com and LDSPlanet.com; Match.com said that People Media had $11.6M in EBITDA in 2008.
