Match.com Buys Singlesnet

Dallas-based Match.com said today that it is acquiring Singlesnet, an online dating site. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Match.com said that it is acquiring Singlesnet--despite a decline in traffic on that site--because it thinks it can reverse the trend and increase the site's profitability. Match.com said that Adrian Ong will assume responsibility for Singlesnet; Ong had joined Match.com in 2002 when it acquired Soulmates Technology.
